Is Your Community Prepared for an Influx of Plug-in Electric Vehicles?

The San Diego region is about 10 percent of the state. If Governor Brown’s goal is reached of 1.5 million zero-emission vehicles on California roads by 2025, our region could see 150,000 on our streets. It’s not a question of “if” I will be asked to install charging, it’s a question of “when?”

SDG&E just launched their Power Your Drive electric vehicle (EV) charging station program and is installing 3.500 charging stations at 350 apartments, condos and places of work. The response to the program has been incredible and the utility can help you access your charging needs and possibly receive charging stations for your own property.

Learn how to qualify and join the interest list at To list your estimated number of EV drivers send out this simple two-question email survey:

  • Do you currently drive a plug-in electric vehicle?
  • If not, would you consider purchasing or leasing one if we provided electric vehicle charging?

With this information SDG&E can assess your charging needs and help prioritize your property as part of the Power Your Drive program.
